FAQs

WHAT IF MY DISPOSAL IS HARDWIRED AND I DON’T HAVE AN OUTLET UNDER MY SINK?

A hardwire connection can simply be changed to an outlet box (Wiremold outlet box) by a qualified electrician.

I HAVE A WALL SWITCH NOW, WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I INSTALL A TOEKICK SWITCH?

Just leave the wall switch in the on position and the TOEKICKswitch will remain operational (off position gives option to disable).

WHAT IF THE SWITCH DOESN’T ACTIVATE THE DISPOSAL?

The most common reasons the TOEKICKswitch doesn’t activate; Plugs are not fully inserted.  If disposal has a wall switch, be sure it’s turned on. Garbage disposal may need to be reset.

I AM CONCERNED THAT MY GRAND KIDS WILL PLAY WITH THE SWITCH AND ACTIVATE IT, SHOULD I BE WORRIED?

Safety was a big part of the design priorities of the TOEKICKswitch.  TOEKICKswitch can only be activated using a patented 2-step mechanism. In addition, two pounds of resistance was added to each of the steps, making it difficult for little hands, but not big feet.

If you also have a wall disposal switch, place it in the “off” position. This will keep the TOEKICKswitch from being operational.

HOW DIFFICULT IS IT TO INSTALL?

The DIY install takes most people approximately 20-40 minutes. Basically 1 hole is drilled into base of cabinet (drill bit included), cord is pulled through, 2 forked electrical wire ends are screw tightened, plug in TOEKICKswitch cord, plug disposal cord into piggyback cord and clip excess cord to cabinet.
